Situated just outside of Las Playitas this is probably my favourite lighthouse on the island. Build in the eary 1950´s it´s perched on the top of a fabulous cliff with spectuar views of the sea and the beautiful landscape of Fuerteventura. The road leading to it is narrow and at times a little too scary for my liking but it´s well worth it when you get to the top.
Places to go
Aguas Verdes or green waters is located on the west coast of Fuerteventura on the road to Betancuria. Named after it´s green bottomed natural rock pools it´s one of my favourite places to go for a picnic. The views on the route to the coast are your typical Fuerteventura “moon mountains” and the odd goat but as you approach Aguas Verdes you start to see a scattering of houses. Read more “Aguas Verdes”
Places to go
After 13 years of living here I decided that it was time to go and find the secret forest in Betancuria and have a barbecue! I´ve wanted to go for ages but have never actually made it for one reason or another. I wasn´t disappointed! If there´s one thing that I miss about the UK it´s the greenary- I was a lover of the Lakes and North Yorskhire and used to spend many weekends there hiking happily around the hills.
